Lewwab are back with new music, infusing funky beats with complementary harmonies in this disco-tinged track. The Irish girl band hailing from Cork are back with their first release of 2021. 2020 saw the release of their first EP Flowers, a self assured first extended play which confidently sets out the duo’s musical style. On a side note, it’s criminal that the EP’s lead single 5k wasn’t co-opted as the nation’s anthem during the travel restrictions of lockdown, but I digress. Following this, the band released two infectious singles Somebody and Drivedrivedrivedrive, building on the momentum set by their EP.

This brings us to Come Thru, the new single from the duo. Sounding like a track not out of place in the golden age of disco, Come Thru is a funky throwback to dance floor days of old. The funk-infused beats combine with Lewwab’s melodious harmonies to create a banger of a track. The band’s new single is practically begging you to dance to its hypnotic tones. As the song's momentum builds, so does the combination of funky beats and mesmerising guitar riff. Foregoing a stereotypical ‘beat drop’ moment plays to the single's strengths as the music builds up into a  syncopated crescendo. It’s a satisfying new release, a sample of more to come and a groovy single to start off your summer the right way.

To get you grooving here’s an exclusive look at the music video, releasing Sunday.

Come Thru (as well as the rest of Lewwab’s discography) is available now to stream on all platforms.
