My pieces relate to two different states of mind over a span of time. One depicts the hard process of opening myself up to new points of view, while the other shows the result of this self-reflection after a year. My mental health journey started out of necessity, and it has helped me not only to prosper in a way that is authentic to me, but also to consider a new philosophy to live by. No matter what happens around me or to me, my self-worth comes from the meaning I get out of everyday life. My self-worth cannot afford to be harmed, and it’s very important that I protect it as new challenges in life come my way.
